Operations Update

The Lapa mine poured its first gold and reached commercial production on May 1, 2009, becoming Agnico-Eagle’s third mine to open in the Abitibi region of northwestern Quebec. All Lapa ore is trucked to the processing facility at LaRonde site, 11 kilometres to the west. As of December 31, 2010, the Company’s richest gold mine has proven and probable reserves containing approximately 0.7 million ounces of gold* (2.8 million tonnes grading 7.4 grams/tonne gold).
