TORONTO, March 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited regrets to report that one of its employees was killed at the Company's LaRonde Mine in northwestern Quebec at 10:30 p.m. yesterday night. The accident occurred in a storage area as the employee was loading steel wire mesh which subsequently tipped over and crushed him against the machinery he was operating. The Company wishes to extend its sincere condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased.

Normal operations at LaRonde continue while local authorities conduct their investigation.
