At LaRonde, many employees have been with the company since production began in 1988. At Pinos Altos, we have built distinctly Mexican cottages, which are permanent structures made by local contractors using local wood and materials, instead of setting up trailers to house on-site workers. The cottages accommodate up to 300 people. Once the Pinos Altos operation is up and running, we expect that virtually all of the 200 people employed at the mine will be Mexican, with approximately 50% from neighbouring communities.

At Kittila, Agnico-Eagle is counting on the expertise and leadership of a mining team with a long history of mine development to successfully build and operate the site. More than 300 employees, mainly from local communities, will work at in this world-class operation.
